I have been very interested in this topic have read a lot, heard a lot, still want to learn some more. There are so many theories about it, I want to know which one is more real.

From what I understand this is what happens: A person dies and if he/she lived a good life then he/she will get another chance to be back to this world with a better life. If person lives a bad life he/she is back to this world with a worse life. Cycle continues until one is enlightened.

What I want to know is this something real that happens, or this is just some misinterpreted belief. I know this is a very silly and vague question to ask but I am burning with a desire to know.
