Title: Witnessing
Post by: steppenwolf on August 18, 2009, 12:17:34 PM
About 15 years ago, witnessing became a day-to-day part of my life - a state that comes and goes from time to time. Lot of emotional stuff has come up since then but I don't feel any unconditional love in this state and it feels like it's still me watching myself. I'm wondering whether I'm missing anything. Also, would it be reasonable to have a goal of staying in the witness state all the time? That could be the state of enlightenment.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks

Great website with non-dogmatic experiential info.

i have encountered the witness state before and i totally know where you're coming from steppenwolf.i noticed getting caught in a power-struggle between me and my emotions for the "director's chair". i feel like sometimes it'll be better to play and act out my emotions sometimes if it just happens to get the best me.
wintness state or not, i believe that just simply being mindful of my circumstances will give me what i need to progress and keep moving forward.

Wonder if you read the essay on the witness state on the site?  Unconditional is un-conditional. Emotions are a condition.. so no, you don't feel the love.. you are the love.

   Blessings...
