What did I do to myself!?

Over the last year, I have had many bad experiences. It was just a rough year in general. I have recently decided to take my life into my own hands and start focusing on myself in a more spiritual matter. In the last two weeks I have been meditating and chanting for hours a day, and trying to learn a lot. My fear is, however, that I have done too much too quickly.

Right now it is 5am. I have not slept. I feel rather disconnected from 'reality' and generally scared and uneasy. I don't know if this is related, but I am feeling some physical symptoms. Itchy all over and I have a bloody nose.

Two days ago I went to Sedona, Arizona where there are said to be spiritual vortexes that align and open up chakras. I meditated in Sedona and left feeling wonderful. This afternoon I did an hour of "Kundalini yoga" and meditated for an hour or so. Since then I have felt rather energized. It was nice throughout the day, but now I can't sleep! and I also feel that my third eye is not only open, but gaping.

What prompted me to get online was a vision that I had earlier this evening. As I was winding down for bed, my mind was 'dancing'. I saw a vision of myself that came to be true hours later. It scared me.

Any advice and insight would be appreciated, as I found this site through google and really have NO idea what I got myself into. I am trying to keep myself calm, but I definitely feel different and things feel a little intense.  I am also wondering if these physical symptoms are relevant or I am just having a sudden onset of late night allergies?

Hello, linab.  Your symptoms tell me that you're doing too much.  Pushing the river.

What you're going through is intensified by the inconsistent foundation you're working with.  You haven't yet created the vessel to hold your unfolding.

Since you appear to want things to be calmer, I suggest turning to grounding and learning to surrender.  If you haven't already found them, these links will be helpful.

Thank you so much for posting these articles. I'm sure if I wasn't so moved by fear and desperate for someone to advise me, I would have stumbled upon them in my search for answers. I did end up falling asleep around 6am and had amazing inspiring dreams and have awakened very refreshed. Today I start fasting and will do some grounding meditations. I think I need to take a step back and walk on this journey, rather run!

The session of Kundalini yoga changed my life! But I think I will study a little more before I continue the exercise. Thank you so much for your informative and helpful reply!

:)
